Abstract
This research introduces volumetric error model for multi-axis machine tools and evaluation experiment of this volumetric error model in order to estimate and improve machine tool accuracy. Moreover, generic kinematic model can be applied in large amounts of machine with different configuration. The volumetric error model is development of conventional kinematic helping predict the volumetric error and reduce costly time in estimating the volumetric error compared to original one. The volumetric error model was then evaluated on 4 axis machine tool by measuring translational and rotational errors, comparing on four body diagonals and doing the R_test.
