Abstract

Adaptive digital predistortion (ADPD) isan effectiveapproach to compensate for nonlinear distortion introduced byRFpoweramplifiers (PAs). Volterra seriesisapplicable forpredistorter design to linearize memoryPAs;however, thenumberofits kernels to beidentified increases greatly withits degree andmemorylength. Inthispaper,a simplified Volterra series(SVS) predistorter modelisproposed. Byonlypreserving partial Volterra kernelsinthe region near themaindiagonal, thestructureis simplified andcomputational complexity isreduced dramatically. Through MATLABsimulations using a Wiener-Hammerstein PAmodelanda two-carrier WCDMA
