Abstract
The fine-structure constant α, formed from the four basic physical constants ( 0and,,, εce ), is regarded in modern physics as a convenient measure of the strength of the electromagnetic interaction. The unknown earlier meaning of α, originated mainly from the uncovered true values and dimensionalities of its two constituents, the electric constant 0ε and electron charge e, is elucidated in this paper. It is shown that α reflects the scale correlation of threshold states of conjugate oscillatory-wave processes inherent in wave motion.
