Abstract
Down syndrome is associated with changes characteristic of primary immunodeficiencies, such as susceptibility to infection, autoimmunity and malignancy risk. However, it is not considered a primary immunodeficiency but rather a syndromatic deficiency, due to the relevance of the characteristic neurological delay. This article presents some arguments that consider Down syndrome as a primary immunodeficiency.
