Abstract

Direct tension tests were performed on reinforced high0strength concrete (RHSC) members results obtained from the experiments, the effect on tension stiffening was examined. The not only were splitting cracks along the reinforcement more extensive, but also the transverse me smaller. Thereby, the reduction in the tension stiffening effect is much greater than that would be expected. Based on the present results, a new empirical model is proposed to predict tension stiffening of HSC members. strength concrete , tension members, tension stiffening
