A Study on the Formation of the Philosophy of Physical Education in Japan: Kazukawa Yogorou's "Philosophy of Physical Education" in 1920s

The name of division of Japanese Society of Physical Education was changed from the principles of physical to the of physical in June, 2005.　The title philosophy of physical was formally recognized at that time.　However, of physical education had been argued before that, because we could find books, journals, and magazines which included discussion in terms of of physical education already in 1920s.　This paper examines discussion of of physical education by Kazukawa Yogorou.　He argued issues on genuine physical idealism of physical and the construction of academic discipline of physical education.　His interests have commonality with ones of current scholars of of physical education: an inquiry into essence of physical education, and foundation of academic discipline of physical education.　Therefore, we can designate early formation of of physical education in 1920s in Japan.
