Abstract
Liaotian No. 11 is a early oriental melon F1 hybrid derived from inbred line 02-39-1-2-2-5-1101 as female parent and inbred line 02-43-3-4-4-3-543 as male parent. The female parent has white skin fruit with early maturity and Fusarium wilt resistance. The male parent has yellow skin fruit with higher sugar content and powdery mildew resistance. The mature fruit of Liaotian No. 11 is pear-shaped with light yellow skin,good shelf-life. The flesh is sweet and crispy with soluble solid content is 14.6%. The average fruit weight is about 350 g and 667 m2 yield is about 2 200 kg. This variety is suitable for greenhouse production in spring in northeast provinces and other areas with similar climate conditions.
