Abstract
This paper reviews some central ideas of the political philosophy of Karl Popper, to show their richness and their orientation to freedom and realism. In this sense it addresses certain issues that occupied the authors life: historicism, the method of critical rationalism, democracy and political parties. It concludes on the need to revise to understand some political issues.
