Abstract
Aircraft Maintenance and Services is the latest in the growing list of Jane's Special Reports which are developing to add to the range of information services that Jane's provides for the Defense, Aerospace and Transportation communities. This report is divided into three sections. The first looks at the current state of the aircraft maintenance industry in the United States, Europe and the Far East and lists the airline maintenance capabilities of almost 350 airlines worldwide. Section two analyses the market by aircraft types, from large civil transports to aging airliners. The latter part of this section forecasts the maintenance requirements for all sizes of aircraft, from models worth more than a 100-seat capacity, through commuter and regional transports, business and general aviation aircraft. Section three deals with the overhaul markets for both avionics and engines, and forecasts the possible implications of the industry moving towards satellite-based navigation and surveillance systems. The main body of the report is concluded with a look at the markets concerning wide- and narrow-body aircraft.
