Abstract
A rapid and accurate high performance reverse phase liquid chromatography has been developed for the simultaneous determination of rabeprazole and domperidone in pharmaceutical dosage forms. Chromatography was carried out on a C-18 column (4.6 mm × 250 mm, 5 μm) using a mixture of phosphate buffer (pH 7.4) and acetonitrile in the ratio of 65:35 (v/v) as the mobile phase at a flow rate of 1.5 mL/min and eluents are monitored at 290nm. The calibration curves were linear over the range of 0.1 – 1.0 mg/mL of rabeprazole. The average retention time of rabeprazole and domperidone was found to be 5.45 and 11.07 respectively. The % recovery value for rabeprazole is 100.2% and for domperidone is 102% confirms the non-interferences of the excipients in the formulation. Due to its simplicity, rapidness and high precision, the proposed HPLC method may be used for the simultaneous determination of these two drugs in pharmaceutical dosage forms.
