Abstract

Konturyty w warstwach menilitowych (oligocen) jednostki skolskiej fliszu karpackiego Tractionite deposits in the Menilite Beds (Oligocene) of the Skole nappe of the Carpathian Flysch show a consistent paleocurrent direction at right angle to regional paleocurrents directions in sand flow deposits and turbidites of the overlying Kliwa Sandstone. This paleogeographic context suggest that the tractionite deposits of the Menilite Beds represent ancient contourites.
