LATTICE SQUARE ARRANGEMENT was used in experiments oneleven strains of timothy, four strains of orchard grass, and ten strains of brome grass.Samples of each strain were planted in three diff- erent plots.For example, brome grass (B 2) appeared in plots 2, 36, and 53 (marked with diagonal lines).Orchard grass (FC 22763) was seeded in plots 19, 37, and 74 (indicated by dotted pattern).Each plot included five rows twenty-five feet long, with one foot between rows.Distance between plots was two feet.
