Abstract

Solid pseudopapillary neoplasm (SPN) of the pancreas is a rare neoplasm of low malignant potential that mostly affect young women. These tumors are of unclear pathogenesis, are slow growing, and can become considerably large before causing symptoms. Complete resection is curative in most cases. Metastases are frequently amenable to resection. Favorable prognosis with long-term survival has been shown even in patients with metastatic disease.
