Abstract

A series of cardiovascular experiments with lidoflazine (R 7904) in anesthetized and unanesthetized dogs is described in detail. The results indicate that lidoflazine is a specific, orally active and very long-acting coronary vasodilating agent. It acts directly on the smooth muscles of the coronary vessels. Lidoflazine is chemically unrelated to the known coronary vasodilators.
