Abstract

The telecommunications sector is currently undergoing changes in markets and technologies. In response, many national governments are restructuring their telecommunications policies and regulatory approaches to the telecommunications industry. Canada is now in the midst of implementing a new telecommunications policy consistent with this changing environment. The Canadian Minister of Communications reviews experience in Canada that may be of interest to other countries and governments.
