Abstract

Some stationary, axi-symmetric vacuum metrics derived by Belinsky and Zakharov via a method of the inverse scattering problem are studied, and it is pointed out that the soliton solutions reduce to the (extended) Tomimatsu-Sato class of metrics in some special cases.
