Abstract

African swine fever outbreaks in the Caucasus region, and one in the Leningrad region Bluetongue virus serotype 4 (BTV‐4) outbreaks in Morocco and Tunisia pose a threat to Spain and Portugal Feral pigeon with highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 in Russia Rift Valley fever in South Africa Continuing spread of West Nile virus in Italy These are among matters discussed in the international disease monitoring report for October to December 2009, prepared by Defra's Food and Farming Group, Global Animal Health
