Exploring the relation between the urbanization and urban employment in China based on panel data and time series

It is important to study the mutual relationship and coordinated development of urbanization and urban employment. By the means of impulse response analysis and panel data regression, this paper makes an empirical analysis of the relationship between urbanization and urban employment. Time series analysis results show that the increase in the urbanization ratio and the scale of urban employment promote mutually; Panel regression results indicate that the rise in urban employment rate can increase the urbanization ratio and this effect is small in the developed and backward areas but big in the medium developed area while the increase in the urbanization ratio do not increase urban employment rate. The relevant countermeasures must be taken to promote the coordinated development of urbanization and urban employment in China.
