Abstract
Survival and growth of 16 provenances of Casuarina eqisetifolia Forst were compared in a trial established on a saline site near Tandojam, southern Pakistan. The site is located at 25° 26' 0 N / 68° 32' 0 E at latitude of 14 m above sea level in Sindh Province, Pakistan. Survival up to 6 months varied from 56 to 78%. Height growth was generally slow. The performance of provenance 18118 was comparatively better than other provenances. The average fresh weight/plant was about 1 kg/plant. Key words: Saline site, Casuarina equisetifolia, provenances.
