Abstract
Since the May 2010 issue of the British Journal of Community Nursing (BJCN) we have had a General Election which has resulted a new Government which is quite unlike any previous Government; a coalition between the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats. We know little about how this will change the health policies of the last Government except, while there is a commitment to sustain real funding, it has been widely announced that we are entering a period of austerity as Government finances are brought back into balance.
