Organisation of beef cattle recording and breeding in Hungary

Abstract
This paper presents a survey on the history of Hungary’s beef cattle breeding, the composition of the cattle population including the number of cows and the distribution of breeds. It also presents the Hungarian breeder’s organisations. Moreover, the practical implementation of recording and performance testing is also included in this paper. Some performance data of recorded purebred herds realized in recent years are evaluated.
