Abstract
A model of commuter traffic in the central areas of towns—previously developed by the writer—has been extended and an approximation previously made has been avoided. The fraction of the available ground area required for roads, the average distance travelled, the distance travelled per unit area, the maximum number of persons that can enter or leave the central area of the town within a given period and the way the average journey time varies with the numbers of persons entering or leaving the central area are all investigated.
