Abstract
: In this study, a modified Biot number analysis of hot air drying of small objects has been described. The derivations outlined in this article provide a platform for testing a number of assumptions made for the simple models. In particular, the uniform temperature assumption is focused upon. A number of calculation examples are given based on previous experimental results. It is expected that the new calculation procedures can provide a better justification for the assumptions made in modeling air drying.
