Abstract
Objective To evaluate the effect of sufentanil given by target-controlled infusion (TCI)on the rocuronium-induced neuromuscular block during general anesthesia with propofol. Methods Forty-five ASA Ⅰor Ⅱ patients undergoing neurosurgery under general anesthesia were randomly divided into 3 groups(n =15):fentanyl+propofo(lF)group;remifentanil+propofol(R)group;sufentanil+propofol (S)group. Neuromuscular block(N-M block)was monitored using train-of four(TOF)stimulation by recording the force of contraction of adductor pollicis muscle with a muscle relaxation monitor (TOF WATCH SX). Results The three groups were respectively induced and maintained with the TCI of fentanyl(target plasma concentration at 4 ng/ml),remifentanil(target plasma concentration at 4 ng/ml),sufentanil(target plasma concentration at 0.4 ng/ml)combined with propofol(target plasma concentration at 4 μg/ml). Rocuronium 0.6mg/kg was given intravenously to facilitate tracheal intubation. The onset time,the duration of neuromuscular blockade and the recovery index were recorded. Results the onset time of N-M block was comparable among the three groups range from 76 to 82 seconds. There was no significant difference in the above parameters among the three groups. Conclusion TCI of sufentanil has no effect on rocuronium induced N-M block.
