Abstract

Abstract Rapidly evolving genes are those genes that exhibit accelerated rates of nonsynonymous substitutions between species, i.e. the number of nonsynonymous substitutions per nonsynonymous site (amino acid altering) significantly exceeds the number of synonymous substitutions per synonymous site.
