Abstract

on paediatrics in the Asia-Pacific Region2 and some more specific remarks about the situation in Japan.3Clearly, improvements in paediatric training in Hong Kong and in its child health indicators have been very significant in the post-war era.Our initial survey dealing with the Asia-Pacific Region' was arbitrarily selective and illustrative rather than comprehensive and Hong Kong's exclusion was unintentional.As Hong Kong has now been chosen as the site for the Ninth Asian Congress of Paediatrics in March 1997, paediatricians from throughout the Region will be able to learn something of these experiences firsthand.
