Abstract
A digital audio system for a consumer high-definition (HD) video cassette recorder (VCR) was developed. The HDVCR, called HD video, used half-inch-wide tape. The digital audio system realized a superb audio quality. The digital audio system for HD video is described. The protection of reproduced data against errors in the synchronization signal and the block address was studied. The recording and reproducing characteristics are discussed.>
