Abstract
Induction motor is one of the electrical equipment that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy to play. Induction motors have many advantages technically and economically, because it is mainly the type of induction motor three phase induction motor squirrel cage rotor is widely used in the industrial world, but this induction motors also have shortcomings, among others, a large starting current and can resulted in a decrease in system voltage required to reduce it starting on 3 phase induction motor squirrel cage rotor. One of the starting method used is the method of soft starting, soft starting method is a way to set the starting voltage gradually so that the induction motor starting current low. in the design tool of soft starter calculation required to conform to the motor in operation, the calculation processing of the data in question is a 3 phase induction motor squirrel cage rotor to be soft starting to ease and speed up and reduce the calculation error is needed software for data processing engine quickly and accurately as well as reduce the risk of miscalculation that results obtained parameters - parameters required, in this study used data from 3 phase induction motor squirrel cage rotor as the driving power of 75 kW of cooling water pump in the power generation process on Singkarak Hydro Power Plant.
