Abstract

A spectrograph intended for analyzing metals, alloys, rocks, and soils has been developed. The optical layout of the spectrograph is based on a concave holographic diffraction grating, recorded in nonhomocentric beams and mounted on a Rowland circle. This paper presents the results of a calculation of the optical layout of the spectrograph and of the aberrational characteristics of concave holographic diffraction gratings, a holographic apparatus on which a second-generation grating is recorded, and samples of spectra obtained on a prototype of the spectrograph.
