[Comment on “There is No Magnestophere nor is there a plasmasphere!”] There is no magnetosphere

In his Forum article in Eos, A.C. Fraser‐Smith advocates that we no longer use the word "magnetosphere" to describe the space occupied by the earth's magnetic field. He argues that since the magnetosphere is not spherical in the geometric sense, we should be emabarrasssed to use this word when communicating with graduate students.
