Abstract

The safety record of the nuclear industry in Britain since its inception in the early 1950s has been of the highest standard. Despite claims by opposition groups that the contrary has been the case, the facts speak for themselves. The IEE Working Group on Nuclear Power was set up in October 1994 to promote a greater role in nuclear topics in the Institution's affairs. The Group organised a Colloquium recently and this article is a report of what took place.
