Response by C. F. O’Brien to the author’s reply

As an admirer of Tucker’s past and present contributions to seismic interpretation, I would like to thank him for his kind remarks. On the question of data accuracy, I followed the approach he described in his reply to Stone’s comments when he said that his article “was about the philosophy and mechanics of contouring seismic data, not about the correctness of the data”. It is legitimate to honor the data as far as possible in such a context; the question of the validity of the values is an entirely separate matter, and I did not address myself to that problem.
