Partial Defect of the Pericardium Associated with a Bronchogenic Cyst

A case of partial pericardial defect associated with a bronchogenic cyst is reported. Pericardial defects are rare congenital malformations; 29% of the 165 cases reported thus far occurred with other anomalies of the heart and lungs, most commonly with bronchogenic cysts. The authors have collected 11 documented cases of coexisting pericardial defect and bronchogenic cyst, including the case presented.
