Coordination of the Bidentate Ligands 2,2’-Dipyridylamine, 1-Phenyl-1,3-butadione and N’-(Propan-2-ylidene)benzohydrazide to Rhenium(III)

Abstract

The reaction of trans -[ReCl 3 (MeCN)(PPh 3 ) 2 ] with 1-phenyl-1,3-butadione (Hbat), 2,2’-dipyridylamine (dpa), and 1-(2-hydroxyphenyl) ethanone benzoylhydrazone (Hhaep) under nitrogen led to the respective complexes cis -[Re III Cl 2 (bat)(PPh 3 ) 2 ], fac -[Re III Cl 3 (dpa)(PPh 3 )] and cis -[Re V OCl 2 (meb)(PPh3)] (meb = N’ -(propan-2-ylidene)benzohydrazide). All the complexes were characterized by 1 H NMR and infrared spectroscopy, and X-ray crystallography. Keywords: Rhenium(III) , Bidentate Ligands, Crystal Structures
