Abstract

Basic research on Novikov gear transmissions is briefly described. In tests, superhard versions of the Novikov transmission are compared with evolvent transmissions. The discussion of their relative merits in the journal Reduktory i Privody is briefly reviewed. Further improvements in Novikov transmissions are suggested.
