Abstract
A novel prolate spheroid infinite element is proposed in this paper. This prolate spheroid infinite element is based on a new pressure representation that is a close solution for arbitrary scattered and/or radiated fields exterior to a prolate spheroid of any eccentricity. Example shows that the feasibility of the novel method is superior to other prolate spheroid acoustic infinite elements, especially at high frequencies and high aspect ratios.
