Abstract
Abstract The occurrence of stylolite seams in permeable sandstones indicates that solution is localized by the material in clay partings rather than by freer circulation along bedding planes. Cementation may be commonly related to stylolite formation as the dissolved material may be redeposited within the bed to form the cement.
