Melba Phillips

Open publisher page 7 citations

Abstract

The concept and definition of electromotive force are discussed. The distinction between conservative fields such as those produced by static charges and the fields produced by electromagnetic induction is stressed. Problems proposed in the September number of this journal are solved as illustrations.
