Abstract
This paper investigates the outage performance for a wireless system employing maximal ratio combining over various fading channels with Nakagami-m faded co-channel interferers (CCIs) and additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN). For the general case with unequal power CCIs and AWGN, it derives the exact closed-form expressions of the outage probability when the desired signal is subject to Rayleigh, Rician or Nakagami-m fading. Some numerical examples are given to illustrate the effects of various parameters on the system performance
