88 R the prospects for the SCO are defining China’s potential place in CAR and the relations between the republics of the latter and Beijing. As for the regionalization of Central Asia, CAR is trying to integrate into the global market, in so doing preserving not only its geographical, but also strategic integrity. But with such a neighbor as present-day China, Central Asia has very few scenarios for this at its disposal—most of them belong to China.
