Abstract
Abstract The reactivity ratios in the copolymerization of N‐vinyloxazolidone with styrene, methyl methacrylate, decyl methacrylate, vinyl acetate, and vinyl chloride have been determined and the Alfrey‐Price Q and e values calculated. Reactivity ratios in the copolymerization of N‐vinylpyrrolidone with styrene, methyl methacrylate, and vinyl acetate have also been determined and the Q and e values determined. N‐Vinyloxazolidone was found to be similar but less reactive than N‐vinylpyrrolidone as a comonomer; however, the properties of the resultant copolymers differed appreciably.
