Abstract
Agricultural and environmental policy changes have potentially large effects on Dutch agriculture and economy as a whole. The effects could be on inter-industry transactions, factor demand, income, trade, and environmental quality. The clear structure and flexibility make applied general equilibrium (AGE) analysis a useful tool for analysing the effects of such policy changes. This paper describes WAGEM (Wageningen Applied General Equilibrium Model), an AGE model of the Netherlands. WAGEM could be used for agricultural and environmental policy analyses.
