Abstract

Stability of a cylindrical plasma column embedded by a rotating ion beam has been studied through linearized magneto-hydrodynamical equations. Normal mode analysis of the equations shows the existence of an exponentially growing wave leading to instability of the system. Growth rate of the unstable mode has been estimated.
