Abstract

In the near future, new non-ionic contrast media will become available for use in the examination of the basal cisterns and ventricles of the brain. Because metrizamide has become the established contrast medium for these examinations (Grepe, 1975; Hall & McAllister, 1980) any new compound will have to show advantage in respect of better radiological contrast, fewer side effects or lower cost to justify its use. In this study we have compared the new non-ionic medium iopamidol (B15000) with metrizamide.
