Abstract

Parametric curves were introduced into computer-aided design processes in the 1960s by Ferguson of the Boeing Company. Since then Bezier curves and B-splines have become significant and rational curves have also been used in some aircraft and ship designs. This paper describes the parametric representation of Bezier curves, Ferguson curves, B-spline curves and rational cubic curves.
