Abstract
Abstract One polarizer type reflective LCDs have been developed for reflective color LCDs with high resolution and high brightness. However, in order to apply it to high‐quality monitor displays, its contrast ratio is not sufficiently high in wide range of wavelength and viewing angle. In this paper, we discuss the design rule of liquid crystal layer and retardation films for one polarizer type reflective LCDs to get high quality, especially high contrast ratio, for the monitor displays.
