Abstract
There is a reduced ability to take up and bind H3-norepinephrine in the hearts of scorbutic guinea pigs. There is also a reduction in the level of endogenous norepinephrine in these hearts. These observations indicate that the supersensitivity to catecholamines found in scurvy may be due in part to the reduced ability to inactivate catecholamines by uptake and binding.
