Abstract
This paper proposes a retransmission-based error control scheme, which enhances the conventional ARQ type packet loss recovery technique for real-time applications by allowing multiple retransmissions. Active request list (ARL) is introduced to enable multiple retransmissions. Invalid retransmission is avoided by using ARL together with buffer control, so that the strong points of ARQ are maintained.
