Abstract
A simulation model of cruising taxi operation system is presented. Vacant taxis cruise in the city to search for passengers, and their search strategies are based on drivers' experience and information. The impacts of dynamic traffic flow and signals are taken into consideration through a cell transmission model. These are helpful for regulating urban taxi operation system more efficiently and providing better service.
