Abstract

In this paper, we present modified feeding structure in the inset fed patch antenna to further improve its performance. Modified feeding technique is same as gap coupling in the patch antenna. The C-band prototype antenna measures higher S/sub 11/ (-21 dB) and lower cross polarization level (-18 dB) than the original inset fed patch antenna and then other measured results of C-band prototype antenna are similar to inset fed patch antenna. The performances have been confirmed by both FDTD simulations and measurements.
